The fourth issue of this annual review of the situation of children in South Africa will be released in June. This year the publication presents nine essays on the theme of ‘meaningful access to education’. As usual, it also discusses key legislative developments affecting children, and contains a section on socio-economic indicators, such as data and commentary on the demographics of children in South Africa, and on their access to education, social assistance, water, sanitation, housing, and health care, among others.
